Meet The RATHORES

While working at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Heena Rathore’s imagination was sparked by looking in the cafeteria’s trashcans.

There’s a lot of plastic waste in hospitals, she thought. Could there be environmentally-friendly replacements?

She wasn’t sure how to make those alternative products yet, but she had a feeling the idea was a good one. Lucky for Rathore, she was married to a scientist, Rakesh Rathore, who worked at the University of Cincinnati at the time.

“He had, of course, far more understanding about the upcoming materials and then the marketing,” she said. “So he shared with me, and I became extremely passionate about the idea.”
